The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that Israel’s severe restrictions on aid to Gaza make humanitarian response nearly impossible. This was highlighted by UNRWA spokesperson Louise Wateridge in an interview with the BBC, which was also shared on the UN agency’s account on X. Wateridge emphasized that the Israeli restrictions hinder the delivery of life-saving aid to Gaza, stressing the need for predictable access. She described the challenges faced by relief teams in obtaining approval from Israeli authorities to enter Gaza and deliver aid safely. She pointed out that despite having doctors and nurses in Gaza, the lack of available medicine due to the restrictions renders their presence less effective.
