The U.N. human rights office reported Wednesday that Palestinians detained by Israeli authorities since the Oct. 7 attacks have faced torture and mistreatment, including waterboarding, sleep deprivation, electric shocks, and attacks by dogs. The report stated that Israel’s prison service held over 9,400 “security detainees” as of the end of June, with some being held in secret without access to lawyers or respect for their legal rights.
