Tens of thousands march in Istanbul to mark Global Day of Action for Gaza

Tens of thousands marched in Istanbul, Türkiye, as part of a “Global Day of Action” to protest Israel’s war on Gaza. Participants called for a ceasefire and the opening of the Rafah border crossing to allow humanitarian aid to reach Palestinians. The protest, which started at Sultanahmet Square and moved to Eminonu, saw people of all ages and regions unite against Israel’s actions, demanding an end to genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Among the attendees was 18-year-old high school student Halegul Kurtas, who distributed brochures listing brands that support the occupation, advocating for boycotts.
