Ninety Palestinians were freed from Israeli prisons in the first prisoner exchange following the Hamas-Israel ceasefire. They were greeted by large crowds of jubilant relatives and supporters upon their return to the occupied West Bank. The freed Palestinians included 69 women and 21 teenage boys, some as young as 12, from the West Bank and Jerusalem. Notably, Khalida Jarrar, a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was among those released after six months in solitary confinement under “administrative detention, ” which allows indefinite detention without charge or court verdict.
