Meta’s Israel policy chief, Jordana Cutler, has reportedly called for the censorship of Instagram accounts belonging to the pro-Palestinian group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). This information was revealed in a report by The Intercept, which noted that Cutler, a former senior Israeli government official, flagged various SJP posts for review within Meta’s content escalation channels.
The report indicates that Pro-Israel groups, along with the Israeli government, have been targeting organizations like SJP and Jewish Voice for Peace, accusing them of being sympathetic to terrorist groups and promoting terrorism on U.S. college campuses due to their support for Palestinians amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Internal documents reviewed by The Intercept show that Cutler specifically advocated for the removal of a JVP post on Instagram that included a reading list featuring authors linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP).
