Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, expressed support for South Africa’s case against Israel at the UN’s top court, referring to it as a “genocide” case over the conflict in Gaza. He stated that Jordan is prepared to submit legal documents and appear in court if the case progresses. Safadi attributed heightened regional tension and violence in the Red Sea to Israeli “war crimes” against Palestinians, which he argued could potentially lead to a wider conflict in the Middle East. He criticized the international community for not taking action to stop Israeli aggression against Palestinians, which he viewed as a threat to regional security and called on the international community to intervene and protect civilians. Israel has denied allegations of war crimes and rejected accusations of a state-led genocide campaign against Palestinians.
