Israeli settlers, led by extremist Ben-Gvir, storm Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque to mark Jewish holiday ( Middle East Monitor)

Thousands of Israeli settlers, escorted by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron to mark the Jewish holiday Chayei Sarah. The Israeli army sealed off Hebron’s Old City, imposed a curfew, and barred Palestinians from accessing the mosque until Saturday evening. The mosque, sacred to both Muslims and Jews, is located in the occupied West Bank under Israeli control, where 400 settlers are guarded by 1,500 soldiers. Local officials condemned the act as a violation of Palestinian rights and religious freedoms.
