Israel uproots 8,000 trees in West Bank in one week, causing $7m in losses

Israel uprooted more than 8,000 trees, mostly olive trees, across the occupied West Bank in a single week, causing an estimated $7 million in losses, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture. The ministry said Israeli forces and settlers carried out the attacks as part of an escalating campaign targeting Palestinian agriculture and food security.

Most damage was reported in the northern and central West Bank, including the uprooting of about 5,000 olive trees in Silat al-Harithiya and 3,000 in Turmus Ayya. Additional incidents were recorded in areas near Jerusalem, Tulkarm, Qalgilya, Salfit, and Bethlehem.
