Israeli authorities allowed the first group of Palestinians to pass through the newly reopened Rafah crossing on Monday, marking a limited easing of movement under a US-brokered ceasefire agreement.
Despite the reopening, Israeli forces continued operations in Gaza, with reports of strikes on homes, tents sheltering displaced families, and civilian infrastructure. Palestinian sources said the attacks occurred even as the ceasefire arrangement remained officially in place.
The Rafah crossing, a key gateway between Gaza and Egypt, had been largely closed during months of fighting, restricting the movement of people and goods in and out of the territory.
