The Palestinian Water Authority reported that Israeli forces destroyed a vital seawater desalination plant during recent operations in northern Gaza. For six days, technical crews have struggled to assess the widespread damage to infrastructure and water facilities. The plant, which supplied clean water to northern Gaza, suffered severe damage, including the destruction of five seawater supply wells, power generators, and key infrastructure. This plant was the sole source of clean water for the region, with no alternatives available, making it difficult to meet the area’s water needs.
