Israel and Hamas accuse each other of truce breaches on fifth day of temporary cease-fire

Israel and Hamas accused each other of violating a truce deal that has brought a pause to fighting in the Gaza Strip. The cease-fire entered its fifth day Tuesday after a two-day extension was announced. However, the Israel Defense Forces said that Hamas had detonated “explosive devices” near its troops, while the Palestinian militant group claimed that Israeli forces had exerted “field friction” in the northern Gaza Strip in violation of the deal.
