An official from the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that 4,500 amputations have been recorded since the start of Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza, marking the 16th consecutive month of violence. Zaher Al-Wahid, Director of the Health Information Department, confirmed that the amputations include 800 children (18% of the total) and 540 women (12%). Al-Wahid emphasized that these figures highlight the severe humanitarian crisis, particularly affecting vulnerable groups like children and women.
