Mattresses, clothing, and basic belongings were damaged, with residents spending hours trying to drain floodwaters. The United Nations has warned that Israeli restrictions on aid have left hundreds of thousands without adequate shelter.
Gaza’s civil defence agency said the flooding mainly affected northern areas of the Strip, where large numbers of people returned after last month’s ceasefire, with additional flooding reported in central Gaza. Authorities and aid workers have urged the urgent delivery of tents, temporary housing, and caravans to protect displaced families as winter begins.
