Court orders Israel to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has issued its ruling on the emergency measures sought by South Africa in its genocide case against Israel concerning the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The court outlined that Israel is required to take measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza but did not mandate an immediate ceasefire. Notably, the judges refrained from making a ruling on the substance of the genocide allegations, indicating that
this aspect may take several years to be decided.
