Australia has voted with 156 nations at the UN to call for Israel’s swift withdrawal from the Occupied Palestinian T erritory, marking a shift in its stance after over 20 years. Ambassador James Larsen said the move aligns with efforts to advance a two-state solution as the path to peace. Opposition leader Peter Dutton criticized the decision, accusing the government of prioritizing political gains over support for the Jewish community. The resolution was backed by 157 countries, including the UK and Canada, while eight, including the US and Israel, opposed it.
