On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, three women in Gaza shared their struggles with managing their periods due to a lack of period products, water, soap, and access to toilets, amid worsening conditions and limited aid, as reported by ActionAid. Period products have become scarce in local markets, and when available, prices have skyrocketed, pushing many women and girls to use products longer than recommended or resort to unsafe alternatives. With the majority of the population displaced and living in overcrowded areas, access to water, soap, and privacy is severely limited. Huda, 33, living in a tent in central Gaza with her three daughters, described the challenges in a voice note message, highlighting the difficulty of managing periods without essential supplies and access to water and sanitation facilities.
