After making historic progress in World Cup qualifying, Palestine aims to host a game for the first time. The Palestinian Football Association (PFA) has proposed playing third-stage Asian qualifiers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, starting with a match against Jordan on September 10. Due to conflict in Gaza, previous “home” games were held in Kuwait and Qatar. PFA deputy president Susan Shabali emphasized that neutral venues were never a permanent solution. The 12,500-capacity Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium in Al Ram, which last hosted a competitive home game in 2019, is ready to host.
