President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the massive pro-Palestinian rally held in Istanbul on New Year’s Day as a “historic moment,” saying it showed clearly that “Palestine is not alone.”
Strongly condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza, Erdogan accused Benjamin Netanyahu of committing crimes that would not go unanswered, saying the suffering of Palestinian civilians, particularly children living in harsh winter conditions, would lead to accountability.
Erdogan also said he is scheduled to hold a phone call with Donald Trump on Monday afternoon to discuss developments related to Gaza.
