Bloomberg reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Türkiye is ready to contribute to a proposed International Stabilization Force for Gaza, warning the mission would lack legitimacy without Turkish participation.
Erdogan cited Türkiye’s historical ties with Palestinians, past security and diplomatic engagement with Israel, and its role as a NATO member. He said Ankara is prepared to assume responsibility for a lasting peace, with the comments coming ahead of a planned call with Donald Trump. He also pointed to Türkiye’s role among signatories of the Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration and its track record mediating conflicts, including between Russia and Ukraine.
