Palestine Action trial begins in London – what we know

Six members of the banned UK direct action group Palestine Action are set to go on trial on Monday over allegations of damaging weapons at a UK site operated by Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems in August 2024. The defendants have been held in custody for more than a year without trial, exceeding the UK’s pre-trial detention limit

The case has drawn international attention and sparked widespread protests, with supporters accusing authorities of heavy-handed treatment of pro-Palestine activism. The detainees are part of a wider group of 24 activists known as the “Filton24,” named after the Elbit Systems facility in Filton, Bristol.
