Egypt strongly rejected any plans to displace Palestinians from their land, following US President Donald Trump’s proposal to take over the Gaza Strip and resettle Palestinians elsewhere. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry reiterated its commitment to working with the international community on Gaza’s reconstruction after Israel’s war. It also condemned Israeli officials’ remarks about launching a plan to force Palestinians to leave Gaza, including Defense Minister Israel Katz’s order to prepare a “voluntary” departure plan. Egypt called these actions violations of international law and Palestinian rights, demanding accountability. The proposal also drew criticism from European countries like Spain, Ireland, and Norway, which recognized Palestine as a state, angering Israel.
