Current and former University of Michigan students have filed a federal lawsuit against the university, accusing it of targeting and disproportionately disciplining pro-Palestinian students involved in campus protests. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, claims that the university violated students’ constitutional rights to free speech, due process, and equal protection. The suit alleges that the university’s administration, including the Board of Regents and senior officials, took disciplinary actions against students, issued trespass notices, removed students from campus jobs, and blacklisted them from future employment.
